Network Engineer (m/f/d)

Location: Hamburg, Germany

To realize our growth ambitions and in the context of a substitution, we are currently looking for a Network Engineer in Hamburg to join our international IT team. The position is limited to 1 year with the possibility of a de-termination. 


Your responsibilities

As an Network  Engineer of Telio you are responsible for the optimal availability of the Telio Network in our highly complex environments. Together with deeply skilled co-workers throughout the company, you will take care of maintenance, timely identification and troubleshooting. You plan, coordinate and implement the various measures and contribute by actively brainstorming, look critically and come up with suggestions for improvements to enhance the quality of our network infrastructure. 

The daily operational activities consist of the following tasks:

  • Setup, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of new production environments.
  • Setup, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of existing Telio Network.
  • Setup, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of our network connecting to the VMware environment.
  • Supporting and educating our Second Level Support in close contact with their customers.
  • Proactive monitoring of the Telio Network to detect potential problems.
  • Document creation of design specifications, installation instructions, procedures, checklist and other network-related information documentation. 
  • Work closely with other IT teams in an international environment.
  • Take part in an On Call rotation and NOC duties. 

Your profile

You have a broad knowledge of Networks within a complex environments. You are highly communicative and even during busy times you know how to maintain an overview and set priorities. As a Network Engineer we are looking for an active and enterprising attitude and for you to be able to motivate and inspire others with this same attitude as well. You have a good analytical thinking ability, and you take initiative to optimize the functionality, availability and reliability of network.

To qualify for this position, you have at least:

  • Three to five years of experience in network administration, network architecture, or a related field.
  • Cisco CCNP certified.
  • Deep knowledge of Network products including Cisco (ASA, Routers and switches), Audiocodes and Grandstreams. 
  • Good system knowledge with experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory.
  • Experience with VMware virtualization.
  • Experience with basic Linux.
  • Experience with monitoring systems.
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) a plus.
  • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Profound willingness to solve problems sustainably
  • Proficient/Good in English and good in German skills both spoken and written
  • ITIL certification is a plus.
  • Experience in coax cable network (DOCSIS) is a plus. 
  • Ability to travel internationally on a regular basis
