System Engineer (MCSA, MCSE) (m/f/d) - Melbourne Australia

Location: Amsterdam, Budapest, Hamburg, Germany

To realize our growth ambitions, we are currently looking for a System Engineer in Melbourne to become a member of our International IT team.

Your responsibilities

As a System Engineer of Telio you are responsible for the optimal availability of the systems and the applications that are running on these systems. To this end, you will take care of maintenance, timely identification and troubleshooting of issues. You plan, coordinate and implement the various measures and contribute by active brainstorming, look critically and come up with suggestions for improvements to enhance the quality of systems.

The daily operational activities consist of the following tasks:

  • Setup, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of our Server environment
  • Setup, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of Workstations and mobile devices
  • Setup, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of our VMware environment
  • Supporting and educating our Second Level Support, who are in close contact with their customers
  • Proactive monitoring of system operations and Telio application, to detect potential problems and solve them before they occur
  • Document creation of design specifications, installation instructions, procedures, checklist and other system-related information documentation
  • Work closely with other IT Teams in an international environment
  • Support the Network team with Network related topics
  • Take part in an On-Call Rotation and NOC duties

Your profile

You have a broad knowledge of IT systems within complex environments, you are highly communicative and even during busy times you know how to maintain an overview and set priorities. You are willing to learn the Telio Unity Application to support our customers together with other Engineers. As a System Engineer, you are ready to face challenges, you have an open and enterprising attitude and you can motivate and inspire others. You have a good analytical thinking ability and you take initiative to optimize the functionality, availability and reliability of systems and application within your area.

To qualify for this position, you have at least:

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science (preferred), otherwise practical education with certifications like MCSA or MCSE
  • 3-5 years of experience in a comparable position
  • Deep knowledge of Windows Operating Systems including Active Directory, Server, Back office products and Workstations.
  • Good knowledge of Linux Operating Systems
  • Good knowledge of Confluence/Jira
  • Good Scripting skills
  • Good network knowledge
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization
  • Experience with monitoring systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient/Good English skills both spoken and written
  • A valid driving license
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management is a plus
  • ITIL certification is a plus
