(Senior) Network Engineer (m/f/d)

Standort: Amsterdam, Niederlande

To realize our growth ambitions, we are currently looking for a Network Engineer in Amsterdam to become a member of our International IT team.



Your responsibilities

As an Network  Engineer of Telio you are responsible for the optimal availability of the Telio Network in our highly complex environments. Together with deeply skilled co-workers throughout the company, you will take care of maintenance, timely identification of issues and troubleshooting. You plan, coordinate, and implement the various measures and contribute by actively brainstorming, looking critically, and coming up with suggestions for improvements to enhance the quality of our network infrastructure. 

The daily operational activities consist of the following tasks:

  • Setup, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of new production environments as well as existing network infrastructure.
  • Connecting our backend environments like VMware following modern networking principles.
  • Supporting and educating our Second Level Support in close contact with their customers.
  • Proactive monitoring of the Telio Network to detect potential problems.
  • Create design specifications, installation instructions, procedures, checklists and other network-related documentation. 
  • Work closely with other IT teams in an international environment.
  • Take part in an On Call rotation and NOC duties. 
  • Take lead of Projects and supervise a team.  

Your profile

You have a broad knowledge of networks within complex environments. You are highly communicative and even during busy times you know how to maintain an overview and set priorities. As a Network Engineer, you have an open and enterprising attitude and have the passion to motivate and inspire others with this same attitude as well. You have a good analytical thinking ability, and you take initiative to optimize the functionality, availability and reliability of network.

To qualify for this position, you have at least:

  • Three to five years of experience in network administration, network architecture, or a related field.
  • Cisco CCNP certified.
  • Deep knowledge of Network products including Cisco (ASA, Routers and switches), Audiocodes and Grandstreams. 
  • Experience of leading a team of engineers. 
  • Good system knowledge with experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory.
  • Experience with VMware virtualization.
  • Experience with basic Linux.
  • Experience with monitoring systems.
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Profound willingness to solve problems sustainably.
  • Proficient/Good in English skills both spoken and written
  • ITIL certification is a plus.
  • Experience in coax cable network (DOCSIS) is a plus. 
  • Ability to travel internationally on a regular basis
